Yes, I rarely prescribe just Kegels to a patient and often advise people to STOP them b/c it’s actually making the issues worse like prolapse or constipation!⬇️
Most need deep core strengthening & functional exercises NOT KEGELS!🤯⬇️
It’s important to be able to elongate your pelvic floor especially during diaphragmatic breathing!🙌
This is one of my fav exercises being 4 months post VBAC with a minor 2nd degree tear (and I already had prolapse prior to kids, grade 1 so it definitely worsened immediately pp but has resolved with doing pelvic floor exercises like this at home!)🙏⬇️

It can last from seconds to several minutes with no pain between episodes❗️
Chronic proctalgia is characterized as a dull ache or pressure sensation higher in the rectum which is often worse with sitting, standing or lying down and last for AT LEAST 20 minutes❗️
And the worst part is that this PAIN can occur while you are sleeping😴
