ABOUT DULHAN
This poem has been given the name 'Dulhan' (bride) because Bhagat Singh considered freedom/Azadi as his bride. This poem has been written by the poet from the point of view of Bhagat Singh. The poet is bringing alive the moments in this poem when Bhagat Singh was about to be hanged. What would Bhagat Singh be feeling before hanging, what would be going on in his heart? The poet has put that feeling in this poem with the help of his imagination and art. We bow to the heroes like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. Without their sacrifice, we probably would not have been able to breathe in free India.

MARTYR’S DAY
Shaheed Diwas or Martyrs' Day is celebrated on March 23 every year to pay tribute to the freedom fighters who gave their lives for India's independence from the British rule. This day is remembered as a dark chapter in the pages of history as the British government hanged Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar. Thus Shaheed Diwas is celebrated to remember these great revolutionaries who sacrificed themselves for the country's independence.
