Motivation, Passion, & Drive

In the movie, "Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade," we find Indiana (Harrison Ford) and his father (Sean Connery) competing with the Nazis in the search for the for cup of Christ.

Both parties are searching but with entirely different motives. One from a passion for faith, the other from a drive for power.

Jesus warns us that our own lives are no different.

How can you tell when your motives are focused on your own gain?

Are you seeking to hold power over others?
Are you motivated by people-pleasing?
Are you driven by fear?

How can you tell when you are instead yielding to the Spirit of God?

Are you moved by a desire to know God more deeply?
Are you seeking to grow based on your Heavenly purpose?
Do you have an inner peace about your decisions?
