Many of us panic and get nervous when we hear the words, “Let’s all go around the table and introduce ourselves” in meetings (even native speakers!)
Here’s a simple 3-step formula you can use to introduce yourself with confidence:
PRESENT
Start by saying something about the present - who you are and what you do now.
Ex: “I’m (name), part of the (department) team. I look after (your main responsibility).”
PAST
Next, say something briefly about your past experience.
Ex: “I’ve been with the company for (time period). Most recently, I worked on the (relevant project or accomplishment).”
FUTURE
And finally, say something positive about the future.
Ex: “Looking forward to working with you all on this project. I think it will be a great opportunity for all of us.”
Whatever you say - make sure it’s relevant to the people you’re talking to!
