I talk a lot about histamine symptoms in the body, but I also see it show up in the brain. That includes memory lapses, fog, trouble focusing, and confusion that gets worse with stress or after certain meals.
Histamine builds in the system when the stress response is overactive. It doesn’t just affect the sinuses or the skin—it affects the brain, too. When I see that pattern, I ask people to track what makes the symptoms better or worse. That timing is often the first clue.
Once there’s a rhythm to it, we can start lowering the histamine load without guessing. Sometimes that means small shifts in food or environment. Sometimes it means calming the stress response so the system stops making so much histamine in the first place.
