ALL AMERICANS SEASON 7 EPISODE 5 REVIEW || KJ ASKED AMINA OUT AND SHE FINALLY AGREED

Amina finds KJ and they both want to talk. KJ wants to say something, but he let’s her speak first. She lets him know that them talking made Khalil jealous. She asks KJ to be her fake boyfriend to keep making Khalil jealous. He agrees and doesn’t bother to share what he wanted to say (possibly that he likes her).

Later, Khalil and KJ run into each other in private. Khalil wants to know what KJ said to make Amina cry. KJ denies making her cry, so Khalil asks if it was him who made her cry. KJ is surprised to know he cares. KJ questions if he and Amina are really just family or if there’s more. He tells Khalil that if he really cares he should ask Amina what’s going on instead of asking him. When KJ bumps into his dad, Cassius asks him about his love triangle with the two girls.

Coop + the professor sitting in the tree
Coop attends her lecture and asks her professor if she has time to answer more questions after class. In the professor’s office, we learn that she was stood up for a blind date with a woman. They decide to continue talking with the caveat that they have a drink together. Things are about to get cozy.

Coop visits Crenshaw after her time with her professor and Preach can see that she’s been drinking. He’s concerned about a teacher drinking with her student and warns Coop to watch out.


Amina organizes a volunteer lock in to help package food for those hungry, while facing a personal dilemma. She contemplates running for Student Council President, especially since her campaign speech coincides with her late mother's birthday.

Enlisting the players at Beverly, KJ decided the day of service would be good for them as well. Shoutout to Cassius for catering his Oakland famous BBQ for the event.


Meanwhile, Coop attends a law panel, exploring her academic and personal interests with her Professor, Breonna. An office hours questions session turned into having drinks and questioning her long distance relationship with her girlfriend, Patience.

Another developing love triangle . . . or should we say square is noted among the teens at the lock in. Anima is observed being comforted by KJ much to the dismay of Khalil and Beverly High cheerleader, Tori. In an effort to continue making Khalil jealous, Amina proposes a fake relationship with KJ, believing this might rekindle his interest.

KJ agrees, setting the stage for potential complications, especially since he was going to finally admit his feelings for Amina, prior to. After a conversation with his dad, Cassius.
