Outrage over Microsoft price hike | ABC NEWS

Microsoft has increased the price of its Microsoft 365 subscriptions, sparking consumer outrage.
The tech giant says it comes with new AI features, and its 84 million subscribers will now have access to Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and the newly renamed Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
But customers have complained saying they should have been asked to opt in.
Consumers also argue that the company hasn't given them an easy way to opt out of the higher priced subscriptions.
A subscription to Microsoft 365 now costs $159 per year in Australia for a personal licence, up from $109 per year.
Some lawyers say what Microsoft did should be investigated by Australia's consumer watchdog, the ACCC.
