We set up cameras to catch paranormal activity in one of the most haunted locations in the nation, Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary. Brushy operated for 113 years as a coal mining labor facility and maximum-security prison. The original four-story prison was built in 1896 by prisoners with wood harvested from the surrounding area. However, in 1933, it was declared a fire hazard and replaced with its current structure, a cross-shaped building constructed of limestone quarried by inmates. Although designed to hold up to 600 inmates, at times, it held nearly 1,200 persons. The main cell block contains four levels, and each cell holds two inmates. Each prisoner could be out of the cell three times a day for meals, an hour for exercise, and a shower at night. None of the inmates were on death row, yet doing time at Brushy was often a death sentence. If the coal mines and diseases didn't kill you, another inmate might. Murder was a common cause of death at the prison. Find out if the damned still haunt the corridors of Cell Block A.
