Stop being a doormat! Your life depends on it.
In this video, I talk about my journey in becoming a self advocate in the realities of work/career, dating, and friendship. Knowing how to stand up for yourself against mistreatment/when you're being taken advantage of is so important.
I walk us through identifying the problem and trace us back to my childhood to help us understand the root of my doormat tendencies: insecurity, perfectionism, fear of failure, and abandonment. Then I talk about how those challenges have manifested into my adulthood and enabled more toxic behavior.
Finally, I share the process of realizing the value of my own needs and gaining more self respect, confidence, boundary setting, etc. and why is important to continuously work on yourself.
