The second sphinx has seen some things.

As you can probably tell the second sphinx wasn't even made by the ancient Egyptians. In fact, it was made in the 13th century and currently sits in Viterbo, Italy's Museo Civico. Despite the fact that it wasn't made in Imperial Rome, I was fortunate enough to find out about it in Anne Roullet's The Egyptian and Egyptianizing Monuments of Imperial Rome (it's fig. 8 of Plate III and it's described in detail on page 8), which I downloaded here: https://dreven-iztok.ucoz.com/board/d...
