Recipe:
Ingredients:
Rice Flour - 1 Cup
Buttermilk (Preferably Sour) - 1/2 Cup
Red Chilli Powder - 1 Tbsp
Salt - As Per Taste
Sesame Seeds - 1/2 Tbsp
Oil - For Deep Frying
Preparation Method:
1. Combine rice flour, red chili powder, salt to taste, and sesame seeds in a mixing bowl.
2. Gradually add buttermilk(preferably sour) to the dry ingredients mixture and mix thoroughly to form a smooth dough.
3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadai over medium heat.
5. Fill a muruku maker or chakli press with the dough, using a star-shaped disc and press the dough directly into the hot oil in circular motions to form muruku shapes. Fry in batches without overcrowding.
6. Fry the murukus until golden-brown and crispy, turning occasionally for even frying.
7. Remove fried murukus using a slotted spoon and drain excess oil. Allow muruku to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
Serve and enjoy Buttermilk Murukus as a crispy snack on its own or with tea or coffee!
