"Explorer" ventured to Jinshan District in New Taipei City to capture Taiwan's century-old unique sulfur fire fishing method, known as fire fishing boats. To film the fishing operations up close, we underwent safety training at the Fisheries Agency and obtained permission after several days of application. The resulting footage, rarely seen on YouTube, offers a perspective from the fishing boat itself, unlike most recordings taken from tourist boats opposite the fire fishing boats. Join us as we explore the captivating scenes of fire fishing from the perspective of "Explorer."

This time, we filmed aboard the Fugui 268. Fugui and Fishery Innovation offer a complete range of experiences. While you may not be able to participate in the fishing activities, you can still appreciate the charm of fire fishing from a tourist's perspective.

Tour Description:
Fire fishing refers to the traditional Taiwanese practice of using light sources to catch fish at night. It earned its name from the "bouncing" sound produced during the creation of the flame. Locally known as "Splashing Boat" in Jinshan, it's the world's only sulfur fire fishing method. Recognized as a cultural asset of New Taipei City in 2015, only the Fugui 268 in Jinshan's Hualong Fishing Port is currently striving to preserve this culture. In recent years, the Ministry of Education has placed significant emphasis on marine cultural education, making it suitable for children to experience the unique history and outdoor education of fishing villages. During the tour, we will not only introduce the origin and operation of fire fishing but also provide special explanations on fish species and fish consumption methods.
