Amritsar temple grenade attack accused killed in an encounter in Rajasansi area

Police today conducted an encounter to nab accused Gursidak and Vishal in Amritsar grenade attack, in Rajasansi area. Accused Gursidak succumbed to the bullet injury sustained during the encounter.

According to police, when SHO Chheharta tried to stop the motorcycle on which the accused was riding, they left their motorcycle and fired at the police party.

"One bullet hit the head of Constable Gurpreet Singh on his left arm, one bullet hit the turban of Insp Amolak Singh and one bullet hit the police vehicle. Insp Vinod Kumar fired in self defence from his pistol which injured the accused Gursidak. Other accused managed to flee from the spot. HC Gurpreet Singh and Gursidak were taken to Civil Hospital for treatment, where Gursidak succumbed to his injuries. FIR on the incident is being registered at PS Airport," say Police.
