In 1992, the Manx language unit was formed - with three members, headed by Brian Stowell, a Language activist, and fluent speaker. So later, they started teaching the Manx language in schools.

Then gradually gained popularity and increased interest, leading to a renewed ethnic identity. From 2001 Manx preschools and primary schools were set up.

Manx language classes were prevalent among both children and adults. Even though Irish and Scottish are their sister languages, Manx is quite different in spelling conventions.

There were also Manx choirs. People started composing songs, writing novels and stories, and scripting for radio programs based on Manx.
