Decrease Billable Expense For Attorneys In QuickBooks Online

Changing billing defaults in QuickBooks Online is needed if you want to decrease billable expenses when billing a client. The billing options, by default, are set to increase an income account when billing for reimbursable expenses. You must edit billing settings if you, instead, want to decrease the billable expense when billing a client. This will be instead of increasing the income the way the billing defaults are initially set to in the account settings window. After editing billing defaults, the expense account that was charged when purchased will decrease and it will increase the client’s balance. Attorneys using QuickBooks online will have to decide on a firm-by-firm basis, how they want to record billing clients for these expenses.
