A Public Defender for Jan. 6th Rioters Reacts to Trump’s Sweeping Pardons | Amanpour and Company

In Washington, the Trump-Musk retribution project against perceived enemies proceeds apace. The new Justice Department has extracted compliance from the FBI in handing over details of 5000 employees who worked on the January 6 investigations, placing these employees in fear of termination. This follows President Trump's Day One pardons for 1,000 insurrectionists who were arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced in U.S. courts for their actions on that day four years ago. Heather Shaner is a longtime public defender who has represented dozens of these individuals. She joins the show to tell us what she's learned from her work.
